More Than a Box of Donuts
Austin Jones, 27, is a Harold’s Doughnuts employee. He has worked at Harold’s Doughnuts since it opened four years ago. Austin Jones is more than what meets the eye. He isn’t your average employee. He loves working here. He finds is very relaxing and fun. He has a forms close relationship with the other employees as well as with each and every customer that walks through the door. “To me, it doesn’t really feel like a job. I just get to talk to people all day long,” Jones said. Jones used to work at another local shop downtown called Fretboard Coffee before coming to work to at Harold’s Donuts. “I think I like working at these places downtown just because of how relaxed it is and how you really get to know the customers,” he said. The full of life attitude Austin Jones has carries over in all aspects of his life.
Austin Jones also has a band called "Austin Jones and the Bootheel Boys.” Jones has been playing the guitar for fifteen years now. He has been singing and working on his band since he was a freshman in high school. The band started in 2014 but really took off in 2016. Austin frequently writes new songs and his band travels around the United States to play at weddings and other events.
Austin Jones has a true passion for all things music and a passion for life in general. His uplifting attitude shines through whether he is working on his music or making donuts. In both of his careers, his main focus is to bring people joy. He accomplishes this daily at Harold’s Doughnuts and alongside his band. “What’s the point in doing something if it doesn’t make people happy? Life is too short,” Austin Jones said. He looks forward to continuing to work at Harold’s Doughnuts while farthing the success of his band.
